Death of Hypolite Rodriguez. - Hypolite Rodriguez, an old and highly esteemed 
citizen of this parish, died at 4:45 o'clock Tuesday morning at the residence of 
his son, Prosper Rodriguez, in Faubourg la Pipe, aged eighty-two years, five 
months and four days. While at work in his garden on Thursday morning of last 
week Mr. Rodriguez suffered a stroke of paralysis, and despite the exertion of 
every effort on the part of his physician and family the patient grew steadily 
weaker and finally passed into the long sleep that knows no awakening. His 
remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at 4:30 o'clock p.m. Tuesday 
after services at the Church of the Sacred Heart, the size and character of the 
funeral cortege attesting the high degree of esteem and respect in which 
deceased was held by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mr. Rodriguez is survived by one son, Prosper Rodriguez, Sr., two brothers, 
Francis and Philip Rodriguez, and a number of grandchildren, all of whom reside 
in this parish. To these afflicted ones The Chief begs leave to tender 
assurances of sincere sympathy.
