Hodge Child Struck by Auto Succumbs
Little Kenneth Blackstock, six and
one-half year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Blackstock, of Hodge, died at 7:00
o'clock Wednesday evening at the Hodge Clinic from injuries received at 5:30
Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by an automobile in front of his home on
the Ruston highway. He never regained consciousness from the time of the
accident until his death.
Playing with a brother on the lawn of his home,
young Kenneth is reported to have dashed out on the highway directly in the path
of an approaching automobile. The driver jammed on his brakes with such force
that the occupants of the car were thrown from their seats but it is said it was
impossible to avoid hitting the child.
Rushed to the Hodge Clinic,
examination revealed that the child suffered a fractured skull, two broken legs
and undetermined internal injuries.
