Funeral services for Louise Williams Ewing, 88, of Quitman were held at the
Jonesboro United Methodist Church on Sept. 7. They were officiated by the Rev.
Wayne Howington and Dr. Doug McGuire. Burial followed at the Jimmie Davis
Tabernacle Cemetery.
Mrs. Ewing died Sept. 5 after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Ewing, often called "Topper", led a life of wife, mother, grandmother, Cub
Scout den mother, Sunday school teacher, church worker, hospital volunteer and
first grade teacher.
She is survived by her husband Lew Ewing; children,
Terry and Donna Ewing and Randy and Rosemary Ewing; sister, Mildred W. Reeves,
of Shreveport; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons Brandon, Brad and Adam Ewing and Wendell Manning and
nephews Steve Reeves and Stewart Harrison. Services were under the direction of
Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Louise was the daughter of J. S. & Maude WILLIAMS. She married Laster Cleo "Lew" EWING on 18 Dec 1939 in Jackson Parish LA.
