Willard Payne

Willard Payne, 67, died 4:30 p.m. Friday at South Louisiana Medical
Center.

He was president of the choir for Beautiful Zion Baptist Church,
superintendent of the Sunday school, head deacon and an active member of
the Baline C. Clay Lodge No. 14, F &A.M. (PHA).

He was an active member of Samuel Wright Chapter of Royal Arch Masons
and served as High Priest.

The funeral will be 8:30 p.m. today at Beautiful Zion Baptist Church.

Dismissal will be 11 a.m. Wednesday from the church.

Burial will be in the Dug Road cemetery, Houma.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elsie Stovall Payne; one son, Willard
Payne Jr., of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Aldonia Crowell, of Houma
and Viola McMillian, of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Emile Joseph, of
California and Norman Signoir, of Portland, Oregon; two adopted sons,
Kentrail and Bruce Herman Scott; and two granddaughters of Jacksonville,
FL.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Gertrude Payne; and
two brothers, Reuben and Larry Steward.

Gertrude-Geddis-Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home is handling the
arrangements.
