Aug 22, 1982 O'Neal Bascle O'Neal Charles (Peggy) Bascle, 70, a native and resident of Bourg, died at 6 a.m. Saturday. He was a well-known cattleman, farmer and businessman. Bascle, who was involved in all aspects of the cattle business, from food production to marketing, took over the family business after the death of his father. At one time, he ran a local delivery route on his meat truck. As a result of his diverse business activities, Bascle served as a member of several cattle related associations. Visitation will be at the St. Ann Community Center from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ann Church in Bourg. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors incl ude his wife, Valerie Mary Rogers Bascle; one son, O'Neal (Butch) Bascle of Bourg; four daughters, Mrs. Leward (Margaret "Peggy-Ann") Boquet, Mrs. Leslie (Carley) Walker, Mrs. Keith (Deborah) Chauvin, all of Bourg, and Mrs. Myron (Jean) LeBeouf of Houma; six brothers, Bryon Bascle of New Orleans, Allen, Merlin, Hubert, Horace and Gerard Bascle all of Bourg; two sisters, Mrs. Tommy (Betty) Metz and Lucille Bascle, both of New Orleans; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ella Hebert and Andrew S. Bascle, and two brothers, Floyd and Bobby Bascle. Chauvin Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
