Oct 22, 1982 Eldred Stewart Eldred James Stewart Sr., 75, died Tuesday afternoon at Thibodaux General Hospital. Visitation will begin 8 p.m. today at Triumph Baptist Church. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Rev. James William will officiate. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery in Gibson, Survivors include seven sons, Lionel Stewart of Los Angeles, Calif., Royal and Walter Stewart of St. Louis, Missouri, Eldred Stewart Jr., Gerald, Wardell and Alfred Stewart of Gibson; five daughters, Mrs. Joyce Clark of Ama, La. and Mrs. Clementine Stewart of Raceland, Mrs. Irma McGuire, Mrs. Mildred Turner and Miss Carolyn Stewart of Gibson; a foster-daughter, Mrs. Lillie M. Williams of Gibson; one brother, Abe Hamilton of Raceland; six sisters, Mrs. Elizida Parker, Mrs. Alice Hamilton, Mrs. Mildred Dabney of New Orleans, Mrs. Oliska Burke and Mrs. Rosa Hamilton of Raceland and Mrs. Rebecca Mott of Des Allemands; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Enola Stewart; and his parents, Jim and Lydia Stewart; two brothers, Samuel and Joseph Stewart; five grandchildren; and one son, John E. Stewart.
