Lovie Brown

Wake services have been scheduled for 8 p.m. today at the Peaceful Zion
Baptist Church for Lovie Brown, 87, who died at 11 p.m. Sunday in
Prevost Memorial Hospital in Donaldsonville. Funeral services will be
held at noon Thursday with interment in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Peaceful Zion
Baptist Church. She was the mother of Annie Mae Hawkins of St. James;
sister of Willie Gordon of Tickfaw. She is also survived by two
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and ten
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,
Elizabeth Johnson and Ed Brown; her husband, Joe Ashley; and four
brothers and sisters; Joe Nathan, Lemorand Nathan, Elma Johnson and
Pankie Johnson. Arrangements by Southall Funeral Home, Vacherie.
