Submitted by: Chris Tidwell [Norman E. Carmouche] Assumption educator dies Funeral services were held today for former Assumption Parish Schools superintendent Norman E. Carmouche who died Saturday at Assumption General Hospital. He was 79. A native and resident of Napoleonville, Carmouche served 29 years as superintendent of schools, 1945-1974, and served a term as Assumption Parish police juror, 1976-1980. Carmouche's public service also included participation as a delegate to the Louisiana Constitutional Convention in 1973. Religious services for Carmouche were held today at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Napoleonville. Burial was in the church cemetery. He was the husband of Anna Belle Gianelloni Carmouche; father of Norman E. Carmouche Jr., Fort Myers, Fla., Paul J. Carmouche, Shreveport, Christopher G. Carmouche, Napoleonville, Anne Carmouche McCollam, Houma, Sue Carmouche Huddleston, Dallas, and Nacy C. Robichaux, Labadieville; and the brother of Mrs. L.P. (Dorothy C.) Martin, Marshall, Texas, Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Corbin, Napoleonville, and Mrs. Sam (Jo) Huddleston, Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Carmouche; a sister, Alice Carmouche; and four brothers, George, Paul, Leonard and Tommy Carmouche. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Assumption Activity Center or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were by Landry's Funeral Home, Napoleonville.
