Hayward Mills Sr.

Wake and funeral services have been scheduled for 8 p.m. today from
Cannon Baptist Church in Plattenville for Hayward Mills Sr., 63, a
native and resident of Plattenville, who died at 10:14 a.m. at South
Louisiana Medical Center in Houma. Dismissal will be at 11 a.m. Saturday
with interment in the church cemetery. He was the husband of Emelda
Bryant Mills; son of Ivory Mills Sr.; father of Mary James of
Dorseyville, Grace Harris of Labadieville, Roynell Mills and Hayward
Mills Jr., both of Thibodaux; Reuben Mills of South Dakota, Nathaniel
Mills of Bertrandville, Stanley Mills, Rudy Mills, Hazel Mills, and
Darwin Mills, all of Plattenville. He is also survived by one sister,
seven brothers, 20 grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was
preceded in death by his mother, Clemence Mills. Williams and Southall
Funeral Home in Napoleonville is handling arrangements.
