Edgar Reed

Dismissal services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Eagle Right Baptist
Church, Gray, for Edgar "Toap" Reed, 59, who died at 4:55 a.m. Feb. 5,
[1984]. Interment was in Allen Chapel AME Cemetery, Thibodaux. He was
the husband of Geneva T. Reed; father of Henry, Leonard and Cleveland
Sims, Bernese Brown, Texie Johnson, all of Gray; Rosalie Singleton,
Houma; Ethel Bennett, Avondale; and Josie Barrow; brother of Lloyd Reed,
Pasadena, Calif.; Dorothy Baptiste, Gray; Mable Johnson, Harriet Brown
and Gertrude Rogers, all of New Orleans; Bessie Davis, Chicago, Ill.;
Urcel Ingram, Schriever; and the late Ernest, Sylvester and Louis Reed,
Willie and Clarence Davis, Beatrice Johnson, Esther Reed and Alice
Davis; son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Reed Sr. He is survived by
33 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
