Esther Babin

Funeral services from the Gretna Home of Leitz Eagan have been scheduled
for 11 a.m. Friday for Esther Babin, 58, a native of Gulf Port Miss. and
a resident of Grand Isle for the past eight years, who died at 7:15 a.m.
Tuesday. Religious services will follow at the Leitz Egan Chapel.
Interment will be in the Westlawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 6
p.m. Thursday. She was the wife of Clayton Babin; mother of Eloisa
Polkey, Earline Lachute, Lige Forehand, Martha Morgan, Dorothy Phillips,
Christine Babin and Charlotte Schertler and the sister of LesterPhelps
and Louise Kelly. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Emily
Phillips and Henry Phelps.
