Amy Pharagood

Wake services have been scheduled for 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Morning Star
Baptist Church in Thibodaux with funeral services scheduled for 1 p.m.,
Wednesday at the church for Amy J. Pharagood (Ma Amy), 83, who died at
2:10 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She was
the wife of the late Ernest Pharagood; the daughter of the late Soloman
and Cora Johnson; the mother of Edwina J. Pharagood of New Orleans,
Everlina Moore, Thelma Williams, Omegia Cole, Louise Johnson and Shirley
Scott of Thibodaux, Rose Meads and Gloria Thomas, both of Labadieville,
Mary Harrell of Brooklyn, N.Y., Joseph Pharagood of Oxen Hill, Md., and
the late Lyndon, Samuel and Ethel Pharagood; the sister of Priscilla
Hawkins, Rebecca Washington, Florence Hawkins, Albertha Bennett and
Solomon Johnson Jr., of Thibodaux, Alexander Johnson, William Johnson of
Houma, Lt. Washington Johnson of Cross City, Fl., and the late Beatrice
and Johnny Johnson. She was survived by 36 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Williams Southall Funeral Home in
Thibodaux.
