Melvin Barrios

Funeral services were scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Mothe Funeral Home
Chapel, Harvey, for Melvin Joseph Barrios, 70, a native of Lafourche
Parish who died at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Interment is in West Lawn Memorial Park.

He was the husband of Gloria Prestenback by second marriage; father of
Cherry B. Barrilleaux and Glenda B. Barrett; step-son of Bertha H.B.
Guidry; step-father of Aline G. Benoit, Jerry J. Gauthreaux and Judy G.
Benoit; brother of Mildred B. LeCompte; and half-brother of Laura B.
Rousse. He is also survived by five grandchildren, two
great-grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and two
step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Chauvin; parents,
Cecile St. Pierre and Wilson Barrios; and sister, Mabel B. Hebert.Mothe
Funeral Home, Harvey, was in charge of the arrangements.
