Horace Pierce

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church, Cut Off, for Horace Paul Pierce, 85, a native and
resident of Cut Off, who died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Visitation is 2-11 p.m. today and 7 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at
Falgout Funeral Home, Galliano. Interment is in the church cemetery.

He was the husband of Octavia Plaisance Pierce by second marriage;
father of Horace Jr., Calvin, Nolan and E.J. Pierce, Verna Gros and Rena
Gautreaux; stepfather of Yola St. Pierre, Elta Duet and Gloria Esponge;
and brother of Stella Hunter, Gladys Cheramie, Wallace and Alex Pierce.
He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, 29
great-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Amrie Abribat Pierce;
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Pierce; sons, Larry and Harry Pierce;
stepson, Herman Lafont; brothers, Forrest and Harris Pierce; and
sisters, Lucia Cheramie and Ella Ledet.Falgout Funeral Home, Galliano,
is in charge of the arrangements.
