Medrick Kennedy

Funeral services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn United
Methodist Church in Napoleonville for Medrick "Son" Kennedy who died at
10:45 p.m. Thursday.

Wake services are scheduled for 8 p.m. today at Second St. John Baptist
Church in Avondale. A motorcade will leave Avondale at 11 a.m. Tuesday
for Napoleonville. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

He was the husband of Louella Lott Kennedy and the father of Rosemary
Johnson, Baton Rouge; Ethel P. Kennedy and Florence Penn, Brooklyn,
N.Y.; Laura Jones, Frederick and Lawrence Kennedy, Avondale. He was the
foster father and uncle of Bernice Robinson, Napoleonville; Ida Mae
Duvernay, Cora Lee and James Bell, New Orleans; and Lloyd Bell of
Avondale.

He was the brother of Iceola Phoenix and Clarence Kennedy, Bridge City;
Ida Henry and Edward Kennedy, Avondale; and Alice Harris, Marrero. He is
also survived by 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Harriet Gray Kennedy;
sisters, Rosemary Birden and Ethel Johnson; and brother, Curtis Kennedy.
