James Starks

Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philomena
Catholic Church in Labadieville for James Albert Starks Sr., 79, a
native and resident of Labadieville who died Saturday at 12:30p.m.

Visitation will be at Landry Funeral Home, Labadieville, 5-10 p.m. today
and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time. Interment will be in
the church cemetery.

He is survived by four sons, James Albert Starks Jr., George Starks Sr.,
Donald Starks Sr., all of Thibodaux and Ronald Starks of Labadieville;
eight daughters, Delores S. Jones, Alice S. Keller, both of Thibodaux,
Brenda Young of Donaldsonville, JoAnn S. Walker of New Orleans,
Margarette S. Domino of Baton Rouge, Carolyn S. Davis, Gladys S. Keyes
and Connie S. Carter all of Labadieville; three brothers, Norman Starks
and Herman "Joe" Starks both of Labadieville and one sister, Florence
Starks of San Francisco, Calif.

He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his wife Hazel Adams Starks; parents,
Henry and Sidney Starks; one son, Norman Alfred Starks; two brothers
Matthew and John Starks and one sister, Mildred Starks Aams.

Arrangements were by Landry's Funeral Home.
