Mary D. Ruiz

Religious services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the
Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine, for Mary Dozier Ruiz, 98, a
native of Assumption Parish and resident of Plaquemine, who died Tuesday
at 6 a.m.

Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. today and from 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday at
Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine. Interment will be in St. Joseph
Cemetery.

She was the wife of the late Morris Ruiz; mother of Margaret R. Capone
and Edith M. LaBue, both of Baton Rouge, Edna L. Babin of Denham Springs
and Huey Paul Ruiz Sr. of Plaquemine. She is also survived by 17
grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and seven
great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight children, three grandchildren and a
great-granddaughter.
