The date of death has been used to order the file. =========================================================================== September 21, 1987 Samuel Gray Dismissal services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mount Zion Baptist Church, Raceland, for Samuel Verret Gray Sr., 64, a native of Lafourche Parish and a resident of Raceland, who died at 11:42 a.m. Monday. Wake and funeral services have been scheduled for 8 p.m. today at the church. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the church. Interment is in Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery, Gheens. He was the husband of Elva Davis Gray; father of Ethel G. Woods, Louella G. Blackledge, Lora Ann G. Jenkins, Samuel Jr., Louis, Stanley, Johnny, Thomas and Cornell Gray; step-son of Clarence Gray Sr.; brother of Melvina G. Lawson, Fannie V. Lofton, Helen V. Washington, Eleanor, Cleveland and Roy Verret. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sara Gray and Willie Verret; sister, Louise G. Jones; and brother, Joseph Verret.Cager's Funeral Home, Raceland, is in charge of the arrangements.
