Anthony Cortez
Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Falgout Funeral Home in
Raceland for Anthony Cortez, 71, a native and resident of Des Allemands, who
died Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.He was the husband of Bernice Fonseca Cortez;
father of Edgar Paul and Anthony Cortez, Jr., Rosie Rumsie, and Linda
Benoit; brother of Daniel, Roy and Moise Cortez. He is also survived by 16
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.He was preceded in death by his
parents Augustin and Rose Tregle Cortez; a daughter, Tillie Waguespack; and
two brothers, Alfred and George Cortez.Falgout Funeral Homes, Inc. of
Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
Lucy Harris
A mass of Christian burial was held in the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son
Inc. on Wednesday at 1 p.m. for Lucy Nellie Guedry Harris, 87, native of
Paincourtville and resident of New Orleans, who died Tuesday at 7:20 a.m.She
was the mother of Westmorland L. and Joan M. Harris, Dorothy H. Dupuy and
Jean H. Gonzales. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee S. Harris.
