Odealia Gibson
Wake and funeral services are scheduled at 8 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of
Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie for Odealia "Jean" Dumas Gibson, 59, a
native of Vacherie, who died Saturday.Dismissal is scheduled at 10 a.m.
Friday with interment in the church cemetery.She was the wife of Henry
Gibson; mother of Mark, Mary, Charles, Cynthia and Jerome Gibson, Shelia
Roussell, Valerie Alexander and Charlene Hickerson, all of Vacherie, Melaine
Boudreaux of Gramercy, Henry Gibson Jr. of San Diego, Calif., and Michael
Gibson of Los Angeles, Calif.; and sister of Eva Roussell and Guy Dumas of
Vacherie, Earlis J., Ronnie and Yvonne Dumas, all of New Orleans, Louis
Dumas of Slidell and Adam Dumas of St. Petersburg, Fla. She is also survived
by 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by
her parents, John Earlis and Felma Saul Dumas; and sister, Marie
Bouie.Duplain Rhodes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
