Joseph Guidry
Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Angels
Catholic Church in Waggaman for Joseph Guidry, 71, a native of Vacherie and
resident of Waggaman, who died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday.Interment is in Our
Lady of the Angels Cemetery.He was the husband of Claire Borne Guidry,
father of Francis "Joe" Guidry and JoAnne McCrary; and brother of Russell
and Alvin Guidry. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great
grandchild.He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Olivia Gabb
Guidry; brothers, Roland and Harold Guidry; and sister, Mae Belle
Rodrigue.He received the St. Louis Medallion from the New Orleans
Archdiocese in 1983. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.Westside Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements.
