Bernadette Morvant
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey for
Bernadette Gros Morvant, 99, a native of Labadieville and resident of Gretna
who died Tuesday.
A Mass will be said at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in
Gretna. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna.
She was the. mother of Hilbert, Russell, Paul and Reuben Morvant, Ethel
Bartholomew, Gladys Brown, Thelma Boudreaux, Gloria Melancon and Doris
Stien;
sister of Filicia Elmor. She is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 62 great-
grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvain "Pete" Morvant; a
daughter,
Mildred Morvant; a son, Louis Morvant; parents, Alice Gautreaux and
Austilien
Gros; brothers, Benny, Austilian and Gus Gros; sisters, Winnie Lirette,
Judith
Wahaven, Lucille Lewis, Mathile Hymel and Elsie Ordoyne.
