Abbie Melancon
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home for Abbie Eddie
"Mel" Melancon, 85, a native of Labadieville and resident of Metairie who
died
Sept. 27, 1990 at 4:15 p.m.
He was the husband of Nita Orillion Melancon and father of Jeannine Main,
Marilyn Cox and Darnelle Clark; brother of Marie Babin, Mabel Freeman,
Josephine Duet, Ursula Chatelain and Noah and Dudley Melancon. He is also
survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emily Blanchard and Clay Melancon;
brothers, Philip and George Melancon and sister, Leonel Usie.
