Lanier, 87, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Napoleonville, who died Monday at 1:30 a.m. in the Baton Rouge General Medical Center. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until funeral time. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. He was the husband of Lea Devall Lanier of Baton Rouge; and father of John L. Lanier of Thibodaux. He also is survived by a granddaughter. Memorial donations can be made to Friends of Christ Church, P.O. Box 648, Thibodaux, La. 70302. Lanier was a sugarcane planter. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Napoleonville and the American Sugarcane League. Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Baton Rouge, is in charge of arrangements. =============================
