Parro, an engineer and longtime district manager of the state Department of Conservation, died Thursday at 4:02 a.m. He was 81. A native of Baldwin, Parro moved to Thibodaux in 1937 where he became a civic and business leader. He was a certified petroleum engineer and has served as the Houma based district manager for more than 30 years of the state department, which oversees mineral resources. In addition to a lifelong involvement in the oil industry, Parro was involved in the agriculture industry. He was a founder and charter member of the Lafour che Crossing La. 308 Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of a number of civic and community groups and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Thibodaux. Parro is survived by his wife Aimee Barras Parro; three sons, James, Richard and Randy Parro; one daughter, Carole P. Knobloch; and two brothers, Alex and Adolph Parro. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son, Conrad Peter Parro; his parents, Dolph and Ida Rodrigue Parro; one brother, Percy Parro and one sister Ida Parro Bodin. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Co- cathedral in Thibodaux with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday. Arrangements are by Thibodaux Funeral Home. =============================
