Danny Duet

Danny "Big D" Duet, 58, a native of New Orleans and resident of
Galliano, died at 12:51 p.m. Dec. 12, 2005.

Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Samart Funeral Home in Cut
Off and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. A
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the
church, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Poppy Duet; parents, George and Velma Doucet
Duet; daughter Cherie Duet Dufrene; son-in-law John Dufrene; brothers
and sister-in- law Johnathan and Theresa Duet and Toby Duet; sister
Dollie Duet; mother-in-law Peggy Gautreaux; sisters-in-law Phyllis
Esponge and Mary Gautreaux; grandson Justin John Dufrene; granddaughter
Dani Jeo'n Dufrene; aunts Cleonise Cheramie, Mae Rita Doucet, Clarice
Duet and Brozena Barker; uncle Irby Doucet; 16 nieces and nephews; nine
great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his brother Scotty Jude Duet; grandparents
Mr. and Mrs. Adam Doucet and Mr. and Mrs. Felecian Duet; father-in-law
Alvin M. Gautreaux; and 20 aunts and uncles.

He was Catholic and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Redfish Tours.

He was part owner of the Cajun Resort in Golden Meadow. He enjoyed
hunting, fishing, casinos and his family.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
