All rights reserved. ============================================================================ December 06. 2005 3:56PM Pamelia Laque Pamelia "Pat" Veloyl Gentry Laque, 78, a native of Prescott, Ark., and resident of Gray, died at 5:56 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma, with burial at the church cemetery. She is survived by her son Louis Jeffries Laque III of Houma; daughters Pamelia Curry of Houma and Tenna Bergeron of Gray; stepdaughters Sheila Cheramie of Boutte and Deborah Foret of Chauvin; brother Douglas P. Gentry of Little Rock, Ark.; grandchildren Toma Miller, Marc Miller, Rick Curry, Carrie Curry, Tony Bergeron, Katie Bergeron, Robbie Bergeron, Reagan Laque, Jeff Laque, Brett Cheramie, Monica F. Boudreaux and Chad Foret; and great-grandc hildren Mia Bergeron, Molly Veloyl Miller, Lauren and Ashley Cheramie, and Dustin, Trent and Alex Boudreaux. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Jeffries Laque Jr.; parents, Homer Lee Gentry and Fannie Vivian Bevel Gentry; and brothers Glenn V. Gilbert N. and Billy T. Gentry. Mrs. Laque was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral; room mother for and member of the Parents Club of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Elementary School; adult advisor for the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), having organized and directed the annual Passion play, youth choir and CYO dances. Mrs. Laque was also a member of the Vandebilt Catholic High School Parents Club and Terrier Club; and was a perennial volunteer at the annual Vandebilt Catholic High School Fall Festival. She had also been an avid supporter of the Nicholls State University soccer team during the mid-1980s. A member of the Kaycee Ladies Auxiliary of Houma Council No. 1317 Knights of Columbus, she was active on both the local and state levels assisting her late husband in his various capacities and manifold works on behalf of Columbianism through the state of Louisiana. "Mrs. Pat," as she was so well known, also served as juvenile narcotics officer and special investigator for the 32nd Judicial District Court Division C, under the direction off the late state District Court Judge Cleveland J. Marcel Sr. Mrs. Laque also served as the local campaign chairperson for the Morrison for Governor Campaign back in 1963. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Francis de Sales Elementary School, 500 Goode St., Houma, LA, 70360 and Louis Infant Crisis Center, P.O. Box 2866, Houma, LA, 70361.
