All rights reserved. ============================================================================ December 12. 2005 12:00AM Amos Southall Sr. Amos Southall Sr., 84, a native of Plattenville and resident of Belle Rose, died at 5:50 a.m. Dec. 8, 2005, at his home. Visitation will be 2 to 4:30 p.m. today at Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville and 5 p.m. until funeral time Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Napoleonville. A religious service will be at 7 p.m. today. Dismissal services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine B. Southall; son Amos Southall Jr. of Belmont, Calif.; daughters Shannon S. McGee of Belmont and Vanessa S. Jenkins of Sacramento, Calif.; brother the Rev. Obbie Southall Sr. of Plattenville; sisters Ora S. Thompson of Donaldsonville and Piccola S. Rhone of Houston; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Denese Southall; parents, Clarence and Florida Buggage Southall; brothers Clarence Southall Jr. and Royal Southall Sr.; and sisters Ruth S. Seymore and Ollie Southall. He was a lay leader of Wesley United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army and chaplain of American Legion Post No. 585. He was a retired employee of the Lafourche Levee Basin. Williams and Southall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
