A visitation will be held in her honor on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Thibodaux Funeral Home, Thibodaux, LA from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Chacahoula, LA from 8:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. The burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Thibodaux, LA. She is survived by her children, Marvin "Ragoo" Dugas and wife, Alie, Carol Dugas Angeron and husband, Robert, Leroy Benoit and wife, Emily, Anthony Benoit and wife, June, and Dianne Benoit Blanchard and husband, John; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert "Potot" Dugas; second husband, Eddie J. Benoit; parents, Julien and Ruth Boudreaux; siblings, Oliver Boudreaux, Birdie B. Gosselin, Olga B. Leboeuf, Thelma B. Ward, Julien Boudreaux II, Floy B. Dover, Doris B. Guillot, George Boudreaux, and Jesse Boudreaux. Bonnie Benoit has touched the lives of countless people. She was always known to open her home and heart to all who came to her door. As an amazingly kind and generous soul, she meant many things to different people; and as such, she answered to many different names, like: Mama, Aunt Bonnie, Miss Bonnie, Bon Bon and Maw Maw - just to name a few. She was a lap for a child in need of comfort, a listening ear for those with a problem, a friend to laugh with and a mother or grandmother to many of whom she shared her love, but not necessarily blood. Let's not forget, though, that she wasn't afraid to take us to task when needed. She was always prepared to make sure no one left her home with an empty stomach. Her kitchen table has seated hundreds and all left full of food and love. The food she prepared was as comforting as a hug and her kitchen, while small, was a safe haven. Knowing her has been a gift; a gift not to be forgotten. No one will ever be able to fill the void she leaves in us - large or small. Take comfort that her body is no longer in pain and her soul has found joy. She spent many years on this earth as a guardian angel watching over us . . . And now she has finally earned her wings. Thibodaux Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. ======================
