Preston 25 October 1834 Before me, Thomas Kennedy, Parish Judge and ex officio Notary Public of the Parish of [Livingston] and state of Louisiana, personally appeared John Blair, of the City of New Orleans, who declared that he does by these presents grant, bargain, and sell unto Isaac T. Preston, of the City of New Orleans, here present and accepting, a tract of land containing Six hundred and forty acres, the same which he purchased from John Core, & which was granted to him by the United States as a donation to an actual settler, which said tract of land lies East of Ponchatoula river, on the Lake Marsh, and adjoins the land of said Preston.This sale is made for, and in consideration that the said Isaac T. Preston assumes, and pay, and satisfy a Judgement in favor of Levi & Phillip Spiller, of the Parish of Livingston, against the said John Blair, about two hundred and ten dollars of which remains unsatisfied.In faith whereof, the parties have hereunto signed their names with me, the Parish Judge & Exofficio Notary Public aforesaid, and undersigned witnesses, this twenty first day of October, one thousand Eight hundred & thirty four.
