William
Michael Hanlon, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in
his home on Monday, March 2, 2020. Born August 16, 1944, in White Plains, New
York, Michael grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he graduated from
University High and then LSU. He married his wife of 51 years, Diane Todd, and
moved to Tallulah, Louisiana where he spent his career in the
agricultural-business industry.
Michael’s
greatest joy came from being the loving father of his son, Michael, and wife,
Amy, and his daughter, Missy Hanlon Parker, and her husband, Randy. He was the
proud grandfather of Bradley and Steven Hanlon and John Michael, Hanlon, and
Allen Parker.
Michael
was actively involved in the community as a former president of the Tallulah
Academy Booster Club and Tallulah Country Club and overall by readily offering
a helping hand whenever he was called upon. Widely known and greatly loved for
his genuine friendliness, his fun-loving, easy going spirit, and his
ever-present smile, Michael will be greatly missed by his many friends.
Michael
was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Joseph and Rose C. Hanlon. In
addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his sister, Eugenie Ogden,
his mother-in-law, Dena Todd, his sister and brothers-in-law who were close to
his heart and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Honorary
pallbearers are Freddy Gaumintz, Pat Patrick, Lee
Oliver, Dalton Fortenberry, Nap Book, and Teddy
Oliver.
The
family would like to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Mike Cage for his
years of dedicated care.
In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah,
Louisiana.
