Funeral services for Mr. John Thomas Hendon, age 80, will be held Friday, December 6, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana with Bro. Kent Fabre officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah, Louisiana under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Mr. Hendon passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at St. Dominic Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

 

Mr. Hendon was born October 12, 1939 in Slaughter, Mississippi. He was a life-long resident of Mississippi. He was owner/operator of Hendon Trucking in Florence, Mississippi. Before opening his trucking company, he ran Delta Brake and Muffler Shop in Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Hendon was in the U.S. Army and served during the Cuban Crisis.

 

Mr. Hendon is survived his wife, Anna Louise Littlejohn Hendon, four sons, Anthony Hendon, Donald Lynn Hendon, wife Aliesha, Joseph Thomas Hendon, wife Felisha, and Philip Shane Murphy, three daughters, Leigh-Ann Short, Kathrine Elaine Reynolds, husband Rick, and Milissa Green, husband Keith, 23 grandchildren, four brothers, Charles, Rufus, Billy, and Frank, three sisters, Dorothy, Mary Lou, and Minnie Ruth, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. Hendon was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ottie Hendon, one son, John Thomas Hendon, Jr., one brother, Jasper Henson, and four sisters, Verdie, Myrtis, Ethel, and Irene

 

Pallbearers are Nicholas Hendon, Thomas Hendon, Matthew Darby, Tyler Turnage, John Allen Johnston, and John Poole.
