Felix Irving
“Brother” Hopkins, Jr., 79, of Tallulah, Louisiana, passed on to be with his
Lord, February 22, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was born June 27, 1939 in
Madison Parish, Louisiana, to Felix Irving
“Toad” Hopkins, Sr. and Louise Hudson
Hopkins.
He is survived by his
loving wife, Shirley Blair Hopkins; two daughters, Charlotte Hopkins Burrell
and Felicia Hopkins Strunk; two son-in-laws that were
like sons to him, Wayne Burrell and Scott Strunk;
three grandsons, Caleb Scott Strunk, Carson David Strunk, and Mason Irving Strunk;
two sisters, Lynell Laird and Kayren
Brown; one brother, Melvin Hopkins; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and
numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was a farmer,
substance abuse counselor, and had proudly served on the Madison Parish Police
Jury. He would help people in any situation. He was known to lend a hand and
would often go without to do so. He always had great wisdom and wit to impart.
He loved to rabbit hunt, fish, dance, tell stories, and he was known to play a
joke or two on his family and friends, He loved to laugh and have fun and will
be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Funeral services will
be Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in
Tallulah. Visitation will be Friday, March 1, 2019 at the church from 5 to 7
p.m. and also Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.
