Funeral Home November 4, 2019
Funeral services for
Linda Faye Mathews, age 72, will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 10:00
A.M. at Parkview Baptist Church in Tallulah, Louisiana with Rev. Jay Morgan,
Rev. Jason Lupo, and Rev. Bruce Wallace officiating.
Burial will follow at Monclova Cemetery in Waterproof, Louisiana. Visitation
will be Monday, November 4, 2019 at 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Parkview Baptist
Church in Tallulah, Louisiana. Mrs. Mathews died Friday, November 1, 2019 at
Merit Health River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Mrs. Mathews was born
October 9, 1947 in Hattiesburg. Mississippi. She worked as a service writer for
Blackburn Motor Company in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Mrs. Mathews was a member of
Parkview Baptist Church in Tallulah, Louisiana. She played piano for Parkview
Baptist Church for 23 years. She loved playing piano and would play for anyone
who asked her. She loved helping her fellow church members and friends, and
spending time with her granddaughter.
Mrs. Mathews is
survived by her son, George Bradley Mathews, of Tallulah, Louisiana,
daughter-in-law, Erin Mathews, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, granddaughter, Baylee Mathews, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, brother-in-law
and sister-in-law, James and Loraine Mathews, special friend and music
director, Ken Gibson, and her church family at Parkview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mathews was
preceded in death by her husband, John P. Mathews, parents, T. J. and Corene Byrd, and brother, Robert W. Byrd.
Pallbearers are Ed Atchenson, Derek Heard, Carlton Whitaker, Ken Gibson, Kevin
Purvis, and Brad Wallace. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Wright and Robert
Aaron Wallace.
