Graveside services for Robert Lee
Melton, Jr, 94, of Concordia Parish, will be held at
10:00 AM, Monday, December 16, 2019 at Northeast Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery
with Rev. Warren Eckhart officiating., under the
direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road,
Monroe.
Mr. Melton was born February 24, 1925 and passed away December 11, 2019 in
Concordia Parish. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Tallulah,
LA. Robert served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1950. He retired as
a salesman for Ouachita Coca- Cola Company. He lived in Concordia Parish, where
he loved to fish and hunt during his retirement.
Mr. Melton was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr., and Pearl Melton;
three sisters, Ruby, Bell, and Ann; five brothers, Willie, Pat, Marzell, Bill, and Lenard.
Survivors include wife, Betty Melton; two sons, Bobby Melton and Ronald Melton;
grandson, Stuart Melton; two granddaughters, Christie Melton and Tracy Murphy;
eight great grandchildren; two brothers, M. L. Melton and Mickey Melton.
Pallbearers will be Stuart Melton, Jack Melton, Jerry Moffitt, Charles
Roberson, Bruce Rourk, and Walter Cobb. Honorary
pallbearers will be Andon Melton, Trent Swayze, and
James Swayze.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday, at Mulhearn
Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
