Funeral services for Ernest Lee May, 77, of 1513 Nat, West Monroe, were
held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Mulhearn's Funeral Home of West
Monroe with the Rev. James White officiating.
Burial was in the
Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe for Mr. May who died Friday afternoon in
Glenwood Hospital after a three-week illness.
He was a native of
Caldwell Parish and had been a resident of West Monroe for over 50
years. He was retired from Olinkraft, Inc., was a member of the Trinity
Baptist Church, a member of Cadeville and West Monroe Masonic Lodges and
he was past master of the Cadeville Masonic Lodge.
Survivors
include his widow, Mrs. Lema Pankey May of West Monroe; three daughters,
Mrs. Anna Lou Johnson of West Monroe, Miss Carlene May of Indianapolis,
Ind., Mrs. Betty Jean Sims of West Monroe; one son, Ernest Wilfred May
of West Monroe; three brothers, Harvey May, Fred May, Seth May, all of
West Monroe; four sisters, Mrs. Fannie Moore of West Monroe, Mrs. Audie
Sikes of Bastrop, Mrs. Lonie Wooley of Spokane, Washington, Mrs. Katie
Lou Gauteux of Gonzales; six grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
Masonic graveside services were conducted
and masons served as pallbearers.
