Funeral service for Jimmy Ray May, 71, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday November 18, 2008 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Calhoun, LA.

Mr. May was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict and retired from the National Guard.

He also was retired from the Ouachita Parish School Board and was a building contractor.

Mr. May loved race cars and racing and was a big fan of West Monroe High School football. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley May; son, Jimmy D. May and wife Bethany; daughter, Brenda Jackson and husband Todd; grandchildren, Danielle Stevenson and husband Markus, Jeffery May and wife Caitlin, T.J. Jackson; great grandchildren, Breanna and Briley Stevenson; sisters, Jo Ann Wyles, Geraldine Causey and husband John, and Nellie Kirkham and husband James; sister-in-law, Joyce Adams and husband Robert; brothers-in-law, Richard McDonald and wife Sharon, and Charles McDonald and wife Peggy; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and side kick Tinker.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery May, T.J. Jackson, Dabne Adams, Steve Howard, James King and Daren Fuller.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Markus Stevenson, Jerry Brown, Tommy McClain, Jason Howze and Bob Howze.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
