Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Head May, 59, wife of retired Louisiana
State Fire Marshal, R. Garland May, 5203 Bon Aire Dr., Monroe, will be
held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West
Monroe. The Rev. James T. Christie, pastor of Memorial United Methodist
Church, the Rev. Lea Joyner, of the Southside United Methodist Church,
both in Monroe, and the Rev. Brand L. Jenkins, pastor of the First
Methodist Protestant Church of Vicksburg, Miss., will officiate. Burial
will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery of Monroe.
Mrs. May
died Tuesday afternoon in St. Francis hospital following a lengthy
illness.
Other survivors include four sons, John R. May of
Vicksburg, Miss., Ronald G. May of West Monroe, Kenneth H. May of
Jackson, Miss., and Dwight K. May of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Linda
Ann Lobrano of Shreveport; two brothers, Max Head of Chatham and Glen
Head of Baton Rouge; 14 grand-children and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Dr. J. T. Jackson, John J. McKeithen, Raymond
Knowles, Arthur S. Tidwell, Johnny Mitchell, Bailey Grant, George A.
Wood, and J. C. Brown.
Lois was the daughter of John Titus HEAD & Mertie Ola "Ollie" BROWN. She married Robert Garland MAY on 21 Oct 1933 in Jackson Parish LA and had five children.
