Deaths, Local: William May

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday for William Harvey May, 83, of 804 North 4th St., West Monroe, at Trinity Baptist Church of West Monroe with the Revl Dr. Clifton Tennison and Rev. James White officiating.

Burial will be in Hasley Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Monroe. Mr. May died Sunday at Glenwood hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. May was a retired maintenance foreman for Olinkraft. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Emma Hudson May of West Monroe; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Stone of Natchez, Miss., Mrs. Rowena Roberson of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Violet Mason of Monroe, and Mrs. Mildred Chapman of West Monroe; one step-son, Elbert Hudson of Linn, Mo., one brother Fred A. May of West Monroe, four sisters, Mrs. Fannie Moore of West Monroe, Mrs. Audie Sisk of Bastrop, Mrs. Katie Geautreaux of Gonzales, and Mrs. Lonie Wooley of Spokane, Wash., 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Members of the Tubbs Sunday School Class of The First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
