Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie McGowen, 82, of 1015 St. John Street,
Monroe, were to be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral
Home of Monroe with the Rev. James T. Horton officiating. Burial was to
be in Memorial Park Cemetery here.
Mrs. McGowen died suddenly at
her residence.
Mrs. McGowen was a native of Marksville and a
resident of Monroe for over 70 years. She was the widow of the late
Thomas F. McGowen of Monroe. She was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Monroe.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Katherine
Gilliland of Memphis; one son, Robert L. McGowen of San Antonio; two
brothers, E. J. Beauclair of Camden, Ark.; and Gaston Beauclair of New
Orleans; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Robert W. McGowen, Jerry McGowen, Eddie McGowen,
Eugene McGowen, J.B. Carr and R.C. Freeman.
