Sunday, March 8th, 1981 - Monday, December 14th, 2020
On March 8, 1981, Larry and Elaine Harris Coleman welcomed a bouncing baby boy into the world, D'Artagnan Christopher Coleman. D'Artagnan was reared in Marrero, Louisiana, where he was the apple of his mother's eye. As his mother's only child, and love of her life, he was naturally precocious and doted on excessively. Some would say he was spoiled. He was actually loved in abundance! He was beloved and everyone around him knew it! He grew quickly to be big and strong. "Dart" as he was affectionally called stood approximately at 6 feet 7 inches tall, possibly taller as he was not measured in recent years. He was head and shoulders above all of his peers and stood out in the crowd and was known as the big guy. D'Artagnan was a born-again believer and was baptized at the tender age of 10 years old by the late Reverend Royal Jackson at the Second Highway Baptist Church of Marrero, Louisiana. He was educated in the Jefferson Parish School System and graduated from John Ehret High School in Marrero, Louisiana. He later attended Louisiana Technical College studying construction and woodworking. Dart was a quick learner and mastered many trades with ease. He acquired his Commercial Driver's License and worked in many facets of a truck driver. He even became an entrepreneur by starting his own transporting business NAMELOC, LCC. The name of his company was his name Coleman spelled backwards. Dart drove hot shots, practiced horticulture, construction, and attained hazmat endorsements. He was recently employed at Transportation Consultants, Inc. Trucking and Warehousing as a truck driver. In his mother's home you can see remnants of a best kept secret of Dart's on display; ceramics. He gave special care and love to each design, crafting them to perfection. D'Artagnan was a member of the Blood Gang Motorcycle Club where he rode a white Suzuki 1300 Gen 2. In the club he was better known as "World" to his biker family. He had dreams of upgrading his bike to a Harley Davidson cruiser. Dart also enjoyed fishing with his father Larry and his brothers, Jeramie and Javon. He was an avid sneakerhead with a rare collection of tennis shoes. D'Artagnan was a big lover of dogs and enjoyed breeding them. D'Artagnan departed this life on December 14, 2020, unexpectedly and to all of our surprise. Our lives will never be the same and we will have a huge void with his absence. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Ruth Howard Harris and Warren and Leona Coleman Sr, his aunt and uncle Robert Kenneth Harris and Gaynel Harris Clark his great-aunts, Irene Harris Minor and Dorothy "Penny" Howard Batiste and his cousin Faron Zeno. Left to cherish D'Artagnan's special times and memories are his parents, Elaine Harris Coleman, Larry Coleman; step-mother, Patricia Coleman; step-grandfather, Hebert Lymuel; two brothers, Javon Lymuel (April) and Jeramie Coleman; a close friend, Glen Alexander of Lafayette, LA; eight aunts, Jinx Broussard (Robert) of Baton Rouge, LA, Eva Coleman of Vacherie, LA, Betty Clement of LaPlace, LA, Amy Moore (Marcus) of Dallas, Tx , Ava Harris Zeno, Lorraine Harris Atkins (Daniel), Janice Harris of Memphis, TN, and Shelia Harris; a great-aunt, Ethel Howard; two uncles Keith Harris and Warren Coleman, Jr. (Brenda) of Vacherie, LA; Godparents, Eugene and Nettie Speaks; Godsister Taeshaun Walters; his entire Blood Gang Motorcycle Club Family, and numerous cousins, relatives, loved ones and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life for D'Artagnan on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at New Orleans Triumph Baptist Church, 840 Caffin Ave., New Orleans, LA 70117. Visitation will begin at 9am. Service at 11am. Interment at Highway Baptist Church Cemetery in Vacherie, LA. Clarence Simoneaux, Jr. was called to eternal rest on May 11th, 2020 at the age of 76. He was born on September 6, 1943 to the late Clarence Simoneaux, Sr. and Amelia Stewart Simoneaux. Dickie, as he was affectionately called, was more than an uncle or brother; he was a father to everyone he encountered. Clarence's faith in God was formed at a young age. He was baptized by the late Rev. F. Alexander. Clarence worked at Avondale shipyard as a sandblaster/painter for over 20 years until he moved to Dallas, Texas. There he became a custodian for the Richardson ISD School System. He remained employed there for 15 years, then he retired and moved back to Louisiana with his sister, Norma Lee. Dickie was a loving and caring man that loved sports. He did not have a favorite team because he watched every sport that came on TV. He loved arguing with his nephews about who he thought would win the games. Dickie was a great babysitter too. He spoiled all his nieces and nephews and their children as well. He will be missed as the trash-talking, loud-mouth, swearing about everything, loving man he was. Dickie told you right from wrong and made sure you heard him too. He could be heard from a mile away. Clarence leaves to cherish his memory his sisters: Melba Louise (Ben) Buckley, Ruth Nell Butler, Norma Lee Rapp, Gloria Mae (Norbert Sr.) Paul, and Sarah Ann (Macklin Sr) Domino who took pride in caring for him until his final moments; aunts: Bertha and Mary; an uncle: Bernard Simoneaux; 1 godchild: Radley Jay Gordon, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence (Buddy) Simoneaux, Sr. and Amelia Stewart Simoneaux, his brother Sherman Simoneaux, and his sister Rose Mary Gordon.
