February 13, 1940 - July 7, 2018
On Saturday, July 7, 2018, God stretched forth His hand and said "Well done, good and faithful servant." Buster "Bip" Leblanc was summoned from his home to spend eternity with the Lord. Seventy-eight years earlier, on Tuesday, February 13, 1940, Bip was born to the union of the late Palmetto Leblanc, Sr. and Isabella Taylor of Convent, LA. He attended and received his education from Romeville Elementary and High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Philippian Baptist Church by Reverend Joseph Smith. In 1959, Buster Leblanc married the late Bertha Simmons. They had six children together. They divorced in the summer of 1970. On December 31, 1983, Buster was united in marriage to Delia Helen Payne (Ricks) in Convent, LA. Buster informally adopted two children of Delia's and later yielded one child together. He spent the remainder of his days in this fervent union. Buster served dutifully as a carpenter at Ascension Insulation in Gonzales, LA for over 40 years. During his time of employment he developed a devoted friendship with his boss, Mr. Vernon Gautreaux. Their friendship mirrored a brotherhood, as they were both deeply involved in each other's lives. Buster was a carefree soul and jester. He loved a hearty laugh and would sacrifice his last to help someone in need. He took special joy in working and spending time with family and friends. He will always be remembered by the words he spoke such as "Dr. Dre here" and "Real men wake up at 6am". Bip fought a good fight and will be wholeheartedly missed. Beloved family members that preceded him in death were his parents: Palmetto Sr. and Isabella Leblanc; brothers: Ernest and Melvin Leblanc; sister: Albertha "Sista" Leblanc; sister-in-laws: Gloria "Toosie" LeBlanc and Mary LeBlanc; and son: Buster Leblanc, Jr. Memories of Buster "Bip" Leblanc are eternally embedded in the hearts and minds of his loving wife: Delia Leblanc; brothers: Palmetto Jr. (Wilhelmina), William (Stella), and Joseph Leblanc; sisters: Ceola, Alma Leblanc, and Linda

Helen Washington Scott was released from earthly duty on September 18, 2023. She was born February 13, 1918, in Convent, the daughter of the late Morris and Emma Washington. She was baptized by the late Rev. Andrew Jackson in 1931, at Little Zion Baptist Church. She was married to the late Rev. Thomas Scott for 57 years, who Pastored Young Pilgrim B.C., Convent, LA. She kept an aroma of love, laughter, and joy. God blessed her with 105 years of good health, a sound mind, and continuous words of wisdom was her anthem. Her legacy was testifying of the goodness of Jesus and loving her family and friends. Life afforded her moments of witnessing 18 Presidents, WWI, WWII, The Great Depression, Assassination of President Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and so much more, too numerous to mention, but her greatest joy in History was seeing the first black President-Obama and the first Female African American Vice-President Kamala Harris Inauguration. Helen Scott was the oldest citizen of St. James Parish; there she served in many capacities. Devoted to her Christian belief with the Holy Spirit's guidance, her faith and service was as broad as Mother of the Church, Steward, Psalmist, Soloist, numerous Church Associations as the First Lady, and her time surpassed many Pastors. When asked where her strength came from, she often said, she gleaned on songs she would often sing, Precious Lord, Father I Stretch My Hands to Thee and I Started in Jesus and I am going Thru. She was surrounded by a host of caregivers: Her Armourbearer's, Evang. Lettie Richardson, Min. Rollet Rhodes, Rev. Wayne Rhodes, Deacon Kenny Richardson, Sis. Lanetta Barney, Sis. Murrianna Washington, Sis. Mary P. Warren, Sis. Cheryl James, Sis. Adrienne Broden, Sis. Minerva Martin, Sis.
