His favorite songs to sing while rocking his grandchildren were "Silent Night" and "How Great Thou Art". Known simply as "Greg" by friends and family, he was 66 years old and born on September 12, 1948. A graduate of Lutcher High School, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and worked for many years at Agrico Chemical in Donaldsonville, LA. Greg was also a professional photographer, who worked in Ascension and neighboring parishes for several years taking portraits, weddings, and other special events across South Louisiana. In recent years, Greg, who loved to tinker with electronics and computers, became an active and valued member of the Ascension Amateur Radio Club where he was known as "KD5IJE". He loved music, especially the Allman Brothers, Chicago, Otis Redding, and James Brown. In his early years, he played the drums in a local R&B/Rock band called The Playboys. Though he was known to be a quiet soul, Greg had a wicked and silly sense of humor and took joy in making others laugh.
