The church address is 5030 Highway 18, St. James, LA 70086. The cemetery is across Hwy. 18 from the church and is also known as Moonshine or Moonshine Acres. Both church and cemetery are located on the river road in the community of Moonshine.
According to the signage on the front of the church St. Luke Baptist Church was organized in August 1874 by Rev. D. King and rebuilt July 1, 1900 by Rev. Thomas Ramsey.
