Funeral services for Herman H. Harris, 92, of Jigger were held Sunday at
Apostolic Faith Chapel in Gilbert with the Rev. Billy Martin and the Rev. Nathan
Roberts officiating.
Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery under the
direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home Winnsboro.
Mr. Harris died
Friday, Feb. 13, 2004 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro.
He was a
lifelong resident of Franklin Parish, a farmer and served as Constable for 18
years.
He was also a member of the Apostolic Faith Chapel in Gilbert.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Harris, mother, Anna Hardy
Harris, wife, Lillie Mae Harris, and grandson Vernon Goodman Jr.
Survivors include daughter, Sadie Mae Bryant, Natchez, Miss.; son, Rev. Virgil
Harris, Jigger; daughter, Linda Ann Sikes, Jigger; a host of nieces and nephews;
special friends, Lola Jane Hitt, Jigger; and Barbara Shipley, Gilbert; 11
grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Roy Goodman, Herman Goodman, James Harris, Rev. Danny
Davis, Jamin Harris and Chad Goodman. Honorary pallbearers Marvin Cruse and Rev.
Curtis Harris.
Herman married Lillie Williams on Aug 14, 1930, in Franklin Parish LA.
