Last rites for William Harry Scriber, 62-year-old Franklin parish planter, were held Sunday afternoon at Ft. Necessity. Funeral services were from the Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church, and burial was in Bowie cemetery. Officiating ministers were the Rev. Dana Terry, pastor of the Winnsboro First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Jack H. Midyett, pastor of the Gilbert charge of the Methodist church. The services, attended by a throng from throughout the parish, were under direction of First National Funeral home. Active pallbearers were J. F. King, George King, Oscar Kincaid, H. I. Hill, Ernest Mason and W. F. Prickett. Honorary pallbearers included Walter Clinton, C. J. Grayson, Herman Wiggers, Lee Wooldridge, Foster Kincaid and W. C. Whitten. Mr. Scriber, who succumbed Saturday at a Winnsboro sanitarium, following an extended illness, is survived by his wife; four sons, W. Buie Scriber and James Oswald Scriber of Baton Rouge and H. B. Scriber, who is in military service, and a sister, Mrs. N. T. Mock of Baskin.
