1997 10:09: MAZA, MAZIE, AND MCCART Looking for information on MAZA, MAZIE, AND MCCART. My husband was Charlie Anderson Mazie, born in Bienville Parish, January 15, 1931. His father was Cleveland Pinkney Mazie, his mother Dealie McCart Mazie.Cleve Mazie's Father was Pinkney MAZA, his mother Annaliza (?) and apparently they migrated to LA from Watervalley Mississippi. Cleve's generation changed the spelling to Mazie. Cleve had several brothers and sisters: they may have been more: ELZA or Elzie, Melvin, Curtis, Melvin, John Allen, Bammie (married a Charles Plunkett), Millie (married a Charlie Plunkett), Vera (married a Thomas Heard), Cleve and Dealie had 6 children: Sybil Lene, Sherwood Lee, Charlie Anderson, Clayton, Floyd Nelson, Helen Ann. I believe they have lived in Bienville, Castor, Saline and at Black Lake.I would certainly appreciate any information you have, and I would send you what information I can gather on the children that I know of. John Allen, Bammie and Millie and their families are listed in the Family Tree Maker, on the net. I know of Dealie McCart, her brother Henry McCart, I believe their father was Cebe McCart, who was killed, possibly by his brother, and Tom McCart, a brother, or the brother, who married their mother after their father died. I do not know what parish they were from, but if you have any information, I would appreciate what you have. I live in Washington State, and cannot travel to Louisiana, but I am trying to find information of family lines, Maza, Mazie and McCart. Maza's came from Watervalley Mississippi, long ago, they lived in Bienville Parish and perhaps spread out further. What is my best bet of finding information on them? In my husband's father's generation, most of them changed their name to Mazie, which was closer to how they pronounced their name. My husband's mother was a McCart.
