Harry is my Great Grandfather/He had a
son Edgar(named after is brother /on list) and Edgar is the father
of my dad, Ellis.
So now, you see how I am connected to the
Prosper & Davis family.
I know that my Great Grandfather
Edgar was working on Abby Plantation in 1930/Ward 5. Stella Prosper
died at Abby Plantation. Henry Davis Jr (Ethel & Harry's Father) was
a widow in 1920 with kids in his house via census pg 9-B /pg 150 He
lived on Abby Road/down the street from the Prosper family.
Charles Morgan, Sr. 1846 had a son named Charles Morgan, Jr 1872.
Charles Morgan Jr & his wife Belle Watson-Morgan had 4
girls(Orelia/Amelia-Adella-Rebecca-Mable)
Orelia Morgan was
married to Edgar Davis, son of Harry Davis
Orelia & Edgar had 2
kids. Lily Mae & Ellis. Ellis is my father.
I know that my
Grandma, Orelia, was divorced by 1933 and died in 1938 in
Assumpton,age 28.
Her kids went to live with her sister, Mable.
Mable married a Lewis and they moved to New Orleans and then CA,
where I currently live.
I am just trying to find out about
the Abby Plantation. What was life like in that area? My father
would never say he was from Lafourche only New Orleans. He was born
in Lafourche and I know he used to go back home, so there must be
some relatives back there. My parents were divorced and he never
took us on his trips to Lafourche. He said that his Grandfather
Charles Morgan, Jr. was rich and he left the money to Mable, who
raised my father and she was a grandma to me. My father died in 2011
and Grandma Mable in 1988.My family been in Lafourche for a long
time.
