The following was transcribed by Gerald W. Mead in the Catahoula Parish Courthouse.

Be it remembered that on this 27th day of February A D Eighteen hundred and Fifty One, in pursuance of an order from the Honorable District Court in and for the Parish of Catahoula in the 11th Judicial District. I the undersigned Recorder & Exofficio Notary Public in and for the Parish of Catahoula and State of Louisiana, directed In said Recorder preceded to the late Residence of Thomas Heard in the aforesaid State and Parish where I made an Inventory of the property composing the Estate & Succession of Thomas Heard, and caused the Same to be appraised by Henry H. Holstein & James M Kiper, competent persons duly appointed and sworn for that purpose and account of which is as Follows to Wit"

Inventory Apraisment

Three hundred and one acres of Land Lying on the East Side of Deer Creek in the Parish of Catahoula being Lot numbered two of Section thirty in Township eleven of Range eight East in the District of Lands Subject to Sale at Ouachita Louisiana Containing Eighty Acres and Eight One hundredths of an acre as per Patent. No. 660?? Also the South East quarter of Section nineteen nineteen in Township Elevin of Range Eight East, containing one hundred and fifty nine acres and ninety one hundredths of an acre as per patent -No 513-Als Lot Numbered three of Section thirty in Township Eleven of Range eight-East, containing Eighty Acres and Eight hundredths as Per Patent -No 46l8. Containing in the aggregate Three hundred and one acres and Seven hundredths. Their having been Ninteen Acres Sold from two of the above Described Lots. Appraised at Ten Dollars per acre $ 3,017.70
