Two courthouse fires prior to 1885 destroyed all Winn Parish court records. Currently, "the old blue book" at the Winn Parish Clerk's Office indexes probates (curatorships, successions, emancipations, and tutorships). Below are listed the names appearing in this old book. Docket or file numbers, book and page numbers, and the type of document contained in the record can be found in this volume, but due to time constraints and laziness, I chose to omit them here. Anyone desiring that particular information can obtain it from the index book or contact me and I will gladly obtain the information for them, or they can order the information, for a nominal fee, from the Office of the Clerk of Court, Winn Parish Courthouse, Winnfield, Louisiana.
